Medical : diagnostics : Fever measurement

It is common practice to check the fever of a person as an indication for his health. Different methods exist:
Oral, Rectum, Ear, Forehead, Axilla.

The most reliable method is the rectal thermometer, but this is invasive and not very pleasant. That is why fast and non invasive methods are preferred, especially with children.
