DEMO90121LR General Description
The DEMO90121LR is a turnkey contactless long range reader example based on the RFID transceiver IC MLX90121. Once set up, it can inventory and access ISO15693 compliant tags and cards by sending corresponding commands.
The DEMO90121LR is connected to a computer through its RS232 serial interface. The Melexis user interface program UT121 can be used for easy and fast evaluation of the demonstrator.
The form factor is minimized to demonstrate the high level of integration allowed by the MLX90121. The bill of material for DEMO90121LR targets a cost of 30$ per component set for 1000 modules.
Complete schematics, bill of material and layout are annexed to the User Manual allowing a fast start for development work. Source code of the firmware is based on the FW90121 library and is available on the CD ROM provided with the DEMO90121LR.
This device is based on ISO15693 RFID standard, maximizing the operating distance.

I am using DEMO90121LR module for my project. Unfortunately,I lost the CD that was supplied with DEMO90121LR module kit. Can u provide me the data/software / help/other information contain in this CD?

You could refer to our last demonstrator called DEMO90121LR: http://www.melexis.com/General/General/DEMO90121LR_662.aspx This kit is an example of a 1W power booster implementation. It achieve reading of ISO15693 cards up to 30cm with 12cm*12cm antenna. You will find lots of information in the related User Manual.
MLX90121 Range
Question
I have a working circuit based on the MLX90121 and ISO15693 and the demoboard DEMO90121LR. 1. How can I estimate the range I should expect? Is there a relationship between antenna size and range that could be used to compare our performance relative to the demo board? 2. Any suggestions for determining the limiting factor in the detection range? Currently I can see the tag responding (on a spectrum analyzer) further away than the tag is being detected, so does this imply the VICC to VCD communication is the limit?
